Our retreat takes place in an authentic Andalusian farmhouse with gardens overlooking the sea. Set in a secluded location, Santillan is an Andalusian paradise. A farm of 50,000 sq m, it’s located in the peace of the Spanish countryside, and is conveniently only 20 minutes from Malaga airport. You can immerse yourself in the silence of nature in its lovely gardens and surrounding hills. Centro Santillan was mentioned in ‘The Times’ as one of Europe’s best yoga and wellness centres. It has a beautiful state of the art and fully equipped yoga studio, complete with Yoga Wall. You can relax in the extensive gardens or round the saltwater pool and in the evening enjoy star-gazing under the dark night sky.

A Yin and Yang retreat is a holistic way to deepen and balance your practice. We work on conditioning the body in the Yang dynamic practice, building strength and confidence. Balance that with an introspective meditative Yin practice, to restore, un-stress and relax.

There are two classes per day except Wednesday when we’ll have the afternoon free to explore Malaga. The morning dynamic practice is flowing movement with breath. There will be the opportunity to work deeper into your practice, working on arm balances, inversions and anything else that you request, this week is for you! The afternoon yin practice, in contrast, holds postures for longer periods of time, between 3 to 5 minutes. It takes place mainly on the floor and works into our connective tissue. It’s a more introspective meditative practice. The stillness can be challenging but ultimately restoring and healing.

Your teachers Austin Ince and Simona Rosa, are experienced teachers who tailor the

practice to the individual. They believe that yoga should offer a challenge whilst remaining fun.

Take it one breath at a time, allow the practice to take place in your body and mind via your breath; by the end of the week, you’ll be stronger, more flexible, and calm.

It’s not hard to see why Santillan is one of the best yoga and wellness centres in Europe. The lush gardens of this Andalusian farmhouse overlook the sea, making it an ideal destination for a yoga break. It’s hard to believe that Malaga airport is only 20 minutes from Santillan. This Spanish paradise is secluded, private and peaceful, and the farmhouse’s extensive grounds provide a tranquil escape to immerse yourself in the silence of nature to enjoy a perfect yoga holiday.

During each yoga break, classes take place twice daily with one in the morning and one in the evening, making full use of the light, airy and spacious yoga studio. This studio is newly built and state of the art, complete with Yoga Wall, designed with guidance from leading yoga teacher Simon Low.

Guests are also welcome to use Santillan’s other facilities during their holiday. The salt-water swimming pool provides a refreshing break between classes, while relaxing in the gardens is always a popular choice. The massage room offers a range of treatments to soothe sore muscles, each at very reasonable rates.
